About Us

Us, the surrounding area and the fishing.

Norfolk Broads Fishing Ltd is situated in the busy broads village of Wroxham. Although referred to as Wroxham the area is actually the two villages of Hoveton and Wroxham. The two villages are separated by the river bure and are connected by the well known bridge in the centre.

The Norfolk Broads Fishing business runs alongside the popular George Smiths boatyard and gives a boating option for most desires.

Many families use the Sheerline day cruisers and dabble with rod and line but serious anglers take advantage of our versatile fishing dinghies. From the base at the boatyard you can explore the northern stretches of the river bure and this includes some of the most productive fishing grounds in the broads system.

The river Bure holds the famous Broads Pike into low 30lbs with a very good head of 10-20lb fish, perch are numerous in the 2-3lb bracket but fish into the 4s and even 5lbers are taken. Bream into double figures with a good average size are present in huge shoals and the silver fish are absolutely everywhere. If you’re very lucky there are tench up to 8lb and carp into the 30’s. Although it is rare to catch these, when you do you really know it. They’re not like lake fish; river tench and carp go like a train and have probably never been caught before!

We also deliver boats by road to the Thurne system via Potter Heigham, this can only be done for weekly hire due to the time of delivery but it might just be worth it. The Thurne has turned up a forty pounder in each of the last two seasons and thirty pounders are more common than most other areas of the broads. Don’t be fooled though; the fish can be big down there but they don’t jump in the boat and fishing can be hard. You have more chance of boating half a dozen fish in a day on the bure, but each to their own!
