| Over the past few weeks the fishing has been steady but obviously with boat traffic pike fishing has been a bit slow. Most boats out have been pleasure and silver fish hunting. This being said, the few boats out after pike have had some results with fish going into the high teens. I'm afraid to say though esox hunters.... the best pike of the last two weeks came on 4lb line and a 16 hook. Mr L had that one and with angling partner had plenty of daytime slabs to 6lb, perch to over 2lb and ten [>>>] |

| New Season 2010-'11 |
| The last week was spent getting the boats out for engine servicing and they're all good with the 14ft having a new engine.
Now, two days in and the lure fishing has been pretty prolific. Day one had around 40-50 pike between 4 boats which was arm wrenching i'm sure. The fish went into twenties with several to mid/high doubles too. Most fish came to lures of various kinds with surface and diving baits doing the trick! A few fish did also come to deads which was surprising considering [>>>] |

| Firstly, my apologies for the break in the blog..... spot of the deadly bug and it drained my blogging joy for a bit! :)
Over the past few weeks there's been a real mixed bag. Last week we had fish in the high teens and a couple of twenties. Some were catching 6-7 fish in a day once they found the males grouped up together but then the very high water and crap weather over the weekend killed it off. In saying that, although the hire boats have struggled in the last few days a friend of [>>>] |

| Another reasonable weekend with a few mid doubles coming out and another into the twenties. Saturday/Sunday was still going the way of live baits but today some fish came to deads again. If that's down to the sudden turn in temperature i'm not sure but that's the way it's gone. With the next few days and nights due to be cold i expext deads to be the winner later in the week. With the cloud cover and breeze that is due i have high hopes for the four musketeers and maybe even anot [>>>] |

| No boats out on Sunday but Friday and saturday saw a twenty each. Firstly Mr F boated a new Pb of 24lb 8oz then on saturday Mr H put a new river Pb of 20lb 4oz in the boat. Both fell to deadbait which at the moment seems the way to go. There is still some colour on the main river in Wroxham but it becomes thicker the further upstream you go. The water around Coltishal is like chocolate and is running very quickly. This is mainly due to the sluice gates being wide open and the colour is due to dr [>>>] |

| A very productive weekend, regular Mr B came with Uncle M to boat 5 doubles and some jacks. A personal best of 16lb 4oz capped a very good two days fishing. 5 lost fish as well seemed to indicate they were on the feed after the water swell from the thaw. Surprising, as the lost fish were on day one too! Normally it's down to hangover but i think the fish were being very cautious to be honest. On the Sunday i had 3 doubles and a jack in the boat, all very slow takes and lighty hooked. The slu [>>>] |

| Another quiet week last week with the ice only clearing fully on Thursday. The good news though, water clarity has dropped a little, run off from the upper Bure seems to be pushing on through the mill and giving a little colour to the river. Mr L who was out Saturday and Sunday struggled with the bright weather today but persevered through rain all day Saturday for a 16 and 22lb+. A fine result for sitting it out in terrible weather! |

| Beware the Heron!! |
| Firstly, a warning for anyone who has not fished the Bure before. Herons!... The local population of Herons are not really wild anymore. If you're fishing in and around Wroxham, be careful when the Herons come and sit near by. They WILL go in after your bait. This i know is true as i have witnessed such an event, it gave a decent fight and even more so once boated.... they will have a pop at your eyes if they can..... BE WARNED.
Ok, now the fishing. It's been a very quiet couple of [>>>] |

| 26/12/09 good day? |
| Hope you had a good day and those that've been out over xmas, i hope you caught. I've been for a couple of hours lure chucking this morning and had a 6 and a 13lber. Nice result with my new lure rod.
Due to the thaw i'm hopeful for the next couple of days, if this morning is anything to go by then they appear to be feeding. The yard has been frozen over for the last 4-5 days but it's gone through xmas day so i think it should be good for the boats Mon & Tuesday. All six [>>>] |

| 21/12/09 brrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! |
| Bloody brass monkeys! The net stuck to the bottom of the boat and the ropes froze solid. I did boat a fish though so it was worth it. Dropped two runs as well but a fish is a fish! I had four last weekend topped by a 15. A couple of boats out this weekend had fish too, with Mr B from Sheffield boating a 16lber. An excellent result in the clear water conditions. |

| I finally broke a run of 2 blanks with a belter yesterday. In fairness to myself the blanks were short, before work sessions. Sunday, it pee'd down with rain first thing, then the biting chill wind dried me off! Next, chased out of Horning by the 'we own the broads' yacht club.... i forgot about racing on Sunday morning. That pushed me back Wroxham way and for once i'm thankful for the sailors.... 23lb 4oz snapper. Built like a breeze block, and had that classic non movement of a [>>>] |

| It's been a while but to be honest, i've hardly been out and as usual the boats are quiet coming upto Christmas. It's about time we got that done, dusted and out of the way so we can have our weekends back to go fishing. The boats that have gone out have been generally catching smaller fish on lures and live bait. Nearly mid December and the fish are still active in relatively warm clear water. Don't get me wrong, i don't wanna swim naked in it but it needs a week of cold wea [>>>] |

| Friday the 13th and it was a good one! Mr B came back after 4 days in Horning and had boated 9 fish upto 17lb+. After day one he dropped the baits and had all the fish on lures which is a great result. Mr W braved the crappy weather today and was rewarded with a Bure twenty! It proves 'the brave' win medals! Speaking of brave, jerry and his motley crew are here and i hope for another high twenty despite the prospect of gales!
The river has still been warm & clear but the rain is [>>>] |

| Mr M and his party had a good trip last week. They took several fish in the week and in those fish had 4 twenties upto 25lb+. The water has still been relatively clear but with the weather over the weekend it is colouring up.... and christ! we could have done with a bit more wind on Sunday. Despite the monsoon conditions, all the boats were out and everyone caught so not bad in the end. Perch have still been coming out with the biggest at 3lb 8oz from one of the usual hot spots but the fish appe [>>>] |

| Forgive my sadness!! |
| Right, time to admit i'm a bit sad, but bear with me 'cause there is a method to my nerdness. It's probably only me who reads it anyway..... maybe Mr B too.
I've spent a lot of time researching air pressures, water temperatures and moon phases. It's about time i put the knowledge i have gained to the test. For.... god knows how long i'll be recording every catch, recording time, weather, wind direction, moon phase, air pressure, water temp, depth, etc, etc, etc. I [>>>] |

| Well, it’s been a tale of three halves if there were such a thing over the past 10 days or so. The sport was good at back end of last week with plenty of fish being boated, no monsters but up to mid doubles. I had my first croc which threatened 20, she fell 8oz short no matter how much I bounced the scales! Once we got to Sunday and early week the water had turned to gin and the guys out there struggled in the clear water. The only fish I had on Tuesday was a jack which I could see chewing on [>>>] |

| The snappers are coming on the feed!! A party last week had a tremendous week boating 34 pike in 5 days, upto high doubles. Mr D. himself had 12 fish with not one of them being single figure weight. They also had big perch as has been regular this year. Some gents on Sunday also had 4 fish in the boat. I await the arrival of Keiron, Clive, Duncan and Simon.... i expect big things this year gents! |

| Well bugger me!! Having spent some time attempting to catch carp from the bure i'm not surprised to hear when one comes out. I've heard of 4 this year including mine but the latest was a surprise to say the least. A holiday maker with a float rod and fishing right off the back of his cruiser has hauled out a monster. Having seen pictures of mid twenties from the river it was estimated at 30... maybe more, a proper breeze block! The guy had no scales and took the pics to mark at Wroxham a [>>>] |

| It's been a while but i've not been out and the boats have been mainly pleasure anglers going out. But, the time is near for the crocs to come. I went out for a couple of hours Sunday, trolled down the river in the sun and had a 16lb so a good start to the snapper season! A new customer with one of our regulars had a 3lb 15oz perch which is the best of the year so far. |

| The boats are getting busier now with the holidays in full swing. Silver fish have been the main target of pleasure anglers. The bigger specimen fish have been perch with 2lb fish still coming out. The pikers that we have had are getting smaller fish on lures and although not monsters at least put a bend in the rod. I've not been out for a couple of weeks but hopefully next week! It's good to see some of you regular broads pikers are getting dates in now... no doubt counting down the day [>>>] |

| A quick one this week as the boats have been quiet running upto the summer holidays. The boats that have been out have put plenty of silver fish in the nets and perch are still sucking down lobs like there's no tomorrow! I've not been out for two weeks now but i'm out Tuesday night. Eels are in my radar now, a 5 pounder would be good to up my Broads pb. |

| So, that's June down and it's been a good start. The perch fishing has been top so far with several fish in the boats over 2lb but a cracking 3lb 6oz tops the scales. The pike fishing slowed a little with the bright weather but some nice fish to low doubles still came out. My fishing has been frantic with bream but the carp have gone into hiding. I've had several decent eels in the last couple of weeks but nothing over 2lbs so... keep trying! |

| Well, that's week one down and i have to say, it's been fantastic sport. We've had silver fish by the net full on day one and 6 pike to lures on one boat. A couple of gents over the weekend boated 17 pike to low doubles all to lures. Great sport for them and a good sign for the summer pike scene. On my quest for carp, i have to say i'm as happy as i could be. First night was wet and i was soaked to the skin by the time the clock struck 12 but by one i forgot all that with a beaut [>>>] |

| The seastrikes have gone back in the water today after being cleaned up, painted and engine services. The dory is close behind with a new floor.
My first trip out will be tomorrow with the fish finder and bait. My aim this year is to target a river carp from the Bure. It's not gonig to be an easy task but i'm gonna give it my best. Friday will be my first baiting trip before the start of a tough challenge. The weather appears to be in my favour for the first few nights of the season [>>>] |

| This year I thought I’d try and keep you up to date with the fishing on the Broads. Some of it will be what I’ve been up to but I will let you know what’s been caught on the hire boats…. Afraid I wont give exact locations though! I'll put something up every week. |
